Hi my name is Denise Runge and i go to purdue north central and our assignment is to write about a problem we believe we have in society. I believe a problem we have is that people are just plain mean. I don't understand why people have to be so negative towards others and at times for no certain reason. Being mean is not attractive and hurts people. Being mean can affect people in many different ways. Some people just get over it and move on, but others take it personally. The ones who take it personally take it to another level that sometimes ends in suicide. There have been many cases of bullying resulting in suicide. This seems to be a small issue but has gotten worse. No one should feel the need to take there own life because of someone elses hurtful words.
It is said that people say mean things to you to make themselves feel better, and I believe that. People who are mean to others do it for no particular reason. I sometimes see that people are mean to others just when they are around their friends. Trying to please others has a big impact on some people and those people would do anything they think they're "friends" or the people they are trying to fit in with would think is cool.
I completeley agree. Bullying is a serious issue nowadays, especially because it is so easy for people to do it on the internet with all of the social networks. I've heard of many cases of cyber bullying.
